§ 3280.305 STRUCTURAL DESIGN REQUIREMENTS is an integral section to know and states the following: “Each manufactured home shall be designed and constructed as a completely integrated structure capable of sustaining the design load requirements of this standard, and shall be capable of transmitting these loads to stabilizing devices without exceeding the allowable stresses or deflections.” Housing and Urban Development Regulations: Georgia Counties that require Wind Zone 2: Wind Zone III equates to a 110-mph fastest-mile wind speed. The six Georgia wind zone 2 counties are Chatham, Bryan, Liberty, McIntosh, Glynn, and Camden, and every other Georgia county is considered a zone 1 (there are no zone 3 locations in Georgia). Wind Zone II mobile homes are built to withstand up to a 100-mph fastest-mile wind speed. Wind zone one mobile homes are allowed in 153 Georgia counties. Wind zone one homes are the most common type in GA. Wind Zone I mobile homes are built to withstand up to a 70-mph fastest-mile wind speed. There are three wind zones: Wind zone I, wind zone II, wind zone III.

Submitted construction documents must contain sufficient information for plan reviewers to be able to review the proposed construction work. Manufactured Mobile Home Permit for the installation of a Manufactured Mobile HomeĬustomers can choose to submit building permits and land disturbance applications in paper or electronic form. All electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and gas fuel work shall meet the requirements of the current edition of each prescriptive code including the current edition of the North Carolina Regulations for Manufactured Homes. Footings, pier spacing, and anchorage shall meet the current North Carolina Regulations for Manufactured Homes and the Manufacturers Installation Instructions. Any deck exceeding 36 square feet will require a separate building permit meeting the current edition of the North Carolina Residential Code. Exterior wood floor systems (decks/porches) 36 square feet or less will be included in this permit. Any home moved into or relocated within Onslow County must be certified as a wind zone II as designated on the homes data plate per Appendix J. The permit for a manufactured home will include all inspections required to set up the home, proper utility connections (electrical, mechanical, plumbing, gas) and the installation of the stoops and steps.
